- I got to meet a small group of Krysta’s family. We had a great time.

Krysta and I were very excited because this was her first time seeing snow.

Charlie Brown is a Bear's best friend.

We visited the site of the original Wal-Mart store "Walton's 5-10" that opened by Sam Walton in 1951 in Bentonville, AR.

This is a picture of Sam Walton's favorite truck, a 1979 ford. Mr. Sam drove this truck even after Wal-Mart had made lots of money.

This is the first house that Bill and Hillary Clinton lived in together in Fayetteville, AR. They were married here and both taught law at the University of Arkansas.

For a little break, Krysta and I decorated some sugar cookies. We really like frosting.

Guess what...more snow!!!!!

We decided that we should definately make a snow man. We used peas M&Ms, sticks and a potato chip.

This is the Crescent Hotel in Eureka Springs, AR. It was built in 1886 and is more than 120 years old.

Horesback riding at Krysta's uncle Steve's house was great! The horse's name is Color Time.

We even hiked down to a small waterfall by Steve's house. The icicles were really neat.

You guessed it...more snow! I made a snow angel at the Arkansas airport the day we headed back to Florida.

Krysta and I had a great time on our vacation. Wooooo Pig Sooie!!

Globe Runner visited Washington DC just as the Cherry Blossoms were in full bloom. It was beautiful, the blossoms are white and pink and the trees fill the tidal basin by the Lincoln Memorial.
He also had a tour of the White House West Wing.

West Wing of the White House
There aren’t too places you can take pictures inside the West Wing but we found a few spots.
The Navy Mess (dining room)

and the kitchen…

He also stopped into the Press Room where the news reporters receive updates from the Press Secretary and sometimes even President Obama. Globe Runner stopped right at the Presidential Podium. See the White House seal behind him? That’s what you see when the President gives a press conference from the Press Room. (There are many different places that are used for press conferences.)

The Rose Garden (outside of the Oval Office) is another place you may see a Presidential Press Conference.

And the tour is over, Globe Runner Bear waves good bye, it was a great tour.

Selena went to America. She took Sam Bear. It was a very long plane ride from New Zealand.

They went to Disneyland.

They met Mickey Mouse and Goofy.

It was fun riding in the car with Goofy.

Selena decided to take Sam for a ride in a little car.

They liked Disneyland.

Selena enjoyed dressing p in her Mickey Mouse ears.

They got very tired but they had a great time.

I am so lucky!!! I got to go to New York this past week. My travel companions had to go to a conference… but I had fun roaming around in the big Apple!

I checked out Radio City Music Hall. It is a huge hall where New Yorkers go to see shows, concerts, watch movies and other kind of special events. From the outside the building does not look that big, but I felt very small once I was inside sitting on the red velvet cushy chairs. It was very comfortable though.

Although the weather was very cold (which I am not used to from my hometown in Florida) I wandered around the city, looked at the snowy Central Park and then ended up in Times Square.

The flashing lights around me were AMAZING. I saw so many commercials for movies and TV shows playing on big screens that were hanging on all the buildings.
After a little while I felt that I was frozen onto the posts that I was sitting on. I wiggled myself free and went into a store nearby to warm up a little.

That store happened to be a store full of M&Ms! Chocolate candy everywhere. Can you believe it?? I made friends with a lot of different kinds of M&Ms. Big ones, little ones, yellow, green, blue, red… you name the color. They were all over the place.

Although the cold was very hard for me to get used to, I had a great time in New York.

I had a great first day being out of my envelope. My new class showed me around the school and I even met their school mascot, which is a tiger. For lunch I ate a very good hamburger and had a spectacular time at recess playing football with the boys. They even gave me a football jersey, just my size. Where I come from we play football a little bit differently. After recess, I played on the computer and played on a typing program called “Bernie’s Typing Travels”.It seems I am not the only traveler around here! I also took a tour using Google Earth to see a glimpse of my hometown. In science, I learned about mixtures and solutions. I got so close to the mixture bowl that I fell in! But don’t worry, it was FOOD!
I am on my way to Brooklyn, NY to a second grade classroom. While I am very excited to go on another adventure, I think I might miss my new friends at North Ward.
