I live in Room 7, Elm Park School in Auckland, New Zealand. I have my school uniform on. All my friends in Room 7 are 5 years old and have just started school. It is February and summertime. In the summertime we go swimming at school. Here I am at the swimming pool with my class.
Mrs Southam (year 2&3 Teacher) brought me to the prep school car park to meet the form captain Jamie to take me to Fenton. I found out that Fenton is in Stoke on Trent. By the way my name is Eddy the Edgehill bear. I got there by mini bus. I stopped for tea at the services in Bristol.
Lance has been busy at his school, the American School of Madrid. He’s been working with the Digital Media Kids after school to show and tell you about our school. We would like to share 3 of his favorite places and things to do at ASM: the Art Room, the soccer field and the playground. Next to each image are audio files to tell about each place. Enjoy!
Playing cricket: My friend Ajaya likes to play cricket. That is a game where you swing a flat bat at the ground. I even caught the ball. You throw the ball at the ground. We played with Ajay’s uncle, Parveen Mamaji.
Going to the wedding: We went to a wedding in Bombay. Ajay’s aunt Jessica Maasi got married. There was a dance called Daandhiya. People do the dance hitting sticks against other sticks. I also played freeze tag with Ajay.
We rode motorcycles in India . Ajay and I were very brave. I went over a big gutter and we saw lots of dogs and bulls. We were on a farm.
Me and Sydney are at the airport and we are so excited .We are going to the Vancouver Aquarium .Sydney’s dad will take some pictures and post them later in the week.He does not have his USB cable but bye for now
Hola from Spain. I’ve been a busy bear lately! The kids have been taking me on field trips with them and I marched in a costume parade last week! I’ve been ice-skating, to a botanical garden and to lunch at a Chinese restaurant! Read on to hear more about my recent adventures!
There is no outdoor ice-skating in Madrid because it rarely gets very cold, but I went ice-skating with the kindergarten kids indoors! The best part was that a bunch of us couldn’t skate when we went there but we kept trying and skated without holding on to the side after awhile. I had a really good time and we want to go again.
In pre-school and kindergarten, we celebrated Carnaval, which is the name for Mardi Gras in Spain! We dressed up in costumes and made stunning masks to disguise ourselves. Lance loved seeing all the costumes and participating in the parade! To learn more about Carnaval as celebrated all over the world, click here.
Lunch at the Chinese restaurant was delicious! I had a difficult time using the chopsticks but the kids helped me. I liked sitting up on this statue so I could see everyone.
At 3:45 pm me and Isabell and her dad arived in Nashville,TN. We first met her mom here and then we went to see our room. Tomorrow night Isabell is very excited, because she gets to see her friend who are in Kentucky . Also tomorrow we are taking a boat ride in the hotel and we’ll go to a really big mall. That’s all for now.
Hello, this is Jose Canada and right now I’m writing a blog the day before I leave to Canada in the morning I have to wake up at 3:00 so I don’t think that I will want to write a blog. Tomorrow my first stop will be in Atlanta and from Atlanta to British Columbia ,Vancouver we will spend one day there and then we’ll drive up to Whistler and go skiing and come back to Vancouver for a day and come back the next I will write a new blog when I get to the airport Bye
I had a great first day being out of my envelope. My new class showed me around the school and I even met their school mascot, which is a tiger. For lunch I ate a very good hamburger and had a spectacular time at recess playing football with the boys. They even gave me a football jersey, just my size. Where I come from we play football a little bit differently. After recess, I played on the computer and played on a typing program called “Bernie’s Typing Travels”.It seems I am not the only traveler around here! I also took a tour using Google Earth to see a glimpse of my hometown. In science, I learned about mixtures and solutions. I got so close to the mixture bowl that I fell in! But don’t worry, it was FOOD!
I am on my way to Brooklyn, NY to a second grade classroom. While I am very excited to go on another adventure, I think I might miss my new friends at North Ward.
(You can see the video that the kids made featuring ME at www.mrsssmith.com.)
